ENGINEERING & ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN

Shape the world around you with the Engineering & Architectural Design program at Region 10 Technical High School. Explore the principles of engineering and design while developing technical skills in computer-aided drafting (CAD), 3D modeling, and structural planning. Whether you’re interested in becoming an engineer, architect, or design technician, this hands-on program prepares you for a wide range of career pathways. Through innovative projects and industry partnerships, you’ll gain real-world experience and valuable certifications that set the foundation for a successful future.

Design the Future with Our Engineering & Architectural Design Program

In the Engineering & Architectural Design program, students engage in hands-on projects that mirror industry standards, from designing bridges and roadways to creating architectural models and mechanical components. Utilizing professional CAD software such as AutoCAD, Revit Architecture, Inventor, and SolidWorks, students develop precision drafting and 3D modeling skills while learning the fundamentals of structural and mechanical design. 3D printing, model building, and mechanical drawing techniques are also key components of the curriculum.

Through partnerships with Maine Maritime Academy, Bath Iron Works, Southern Maine Community College, and local engineering firms, students gain exposure to real-world applications of engineering and architecture. This immersive experience provides a strong foundation in design thinking, problem-solving, and technical communication, equipping students with the knowledge and confidence to excel in post-secondary education or enter the workforce as a design technician or drafter.

Our NEW BRUNSWICK LANDING CAMPUS

& INDUSTRY PARTNERSHIPS

The Engineering & Architectural Design program is uniquely positioned at our new Brunswick Landing campus. Brunswick Landing, the prior Naval Air Base is a growing hub for advanced manufacturing, engineering, and education. Students will learn in the same building as Bath Iron Works (BIW) and Maine Maritime Academy (MMA), with Southern Maine Community College (SMCC) Brunswick Campus just a short distance away.

    • Bath Iron Works (BIW): A leader in shipbuilding and defense, BIW provides students with insights into naval architecture, precision manufacturing, and large-scale engineering projects. Opportunities may include guest speakers, facility tours, and potential pathways into apprenticeships or employment.
    • Maine Maritime Academy (MMA): A premier institution for engineering and maritime studies, MMA offers college-level coursework and industry connections to help students explore careers in mechanical, marine, and structural engineering.
    • Southern Maine Community College (SMCC): With its Brunswick campus nearby, SMCC provides opportunities for students to pursue, concurrent enrollment, certifications in engineering-related fields and being working towards associate degrees and beyond.

By immersing students in a professional, hands-on learning environment at Brunswick Landing, this program ensures access to cutting-edge technology, industry expertise, and scaffolded career pathways that go beyond the traditional classroom.
