The new school will combine academic excellence with career readiness, providing students with powerful and flexible pathways to success.

The transformation into a comprehensive technical high school is driven by the need to prepare students for high-wage, high-demand careers in Maine. It aims to develop students’ interests and strengths, stimulate partnerships with local employers, and provide uninterrupted, coordinated learning. This approach will offer students flexible pathways to post-secondary education and employment, ensuring they are well-prepared for the future.
Features
Region 10 will feature integrated academics that combine rigorous, relevant coursework with practical 21st-century skills. The full-service school will include academic classrooms, technical labs, a cafeteria, library, gym, and sports teams. The involvement in Career and Technical Education (CTE) will be progressive, starting with exposure to different programs and career possibilities in Grade 9, focusing on the field of first choice in Grade 10, specializing in technical studies in Grade 11, and emphasizing certification, pre-apprenticeships, internships, and college credits in Grade 12.

This approach will also reduce the cost and time associated with post-secondary education through advanced concurrent enrollment, dual enrollment, and articulation agreements with Maine colleges.
