A strong and thorough understanding of mathematics is the basis of many jobs and careers.
PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
The new math program at Region 10 is designed to serve the needs of students who attend our school. From short term support help in math for students in their respective programs, to one credit courses in Algebra 1 through Pre-calculus, to enrollement in Technical Math, our students will learn from and be supported by a fully certified math instructor in a schedule that aligns with their personal learning or program requirement needs.
TECHNICAL MATH
In this Southern Maine Community College course, students learn mathematics relevant to a variety of technical disciplines. The course content includes proportions, percentages, measurement , algebra, geometry, trigonometry and statistics. An emphasis is placed on practical, contextual applications. This course in intended for senior level students. Juniors will need to demonstrate mathematical readiness if they wish to enroll in the course.
MATH LAB A
Math Lab A is available to students who need extra help in mathematics to support their program of study at region 10 or related to a mathementics course they are enrolled in at their sending school.
Math Lab B
Math Lab B is designed to allow students to take a one credit course in Algebra 1 through Pre-calculus with online and Region 10 math teacher instruction.
