A Letter from Superintendent/Director Nancy Weed
March 27, 2018
Dear Parents/Guardians, Students and Community Visitors to Region 10,
I am writing to let you know that we are making a few changes here at Region 10 to improve school security for our students and staff. We have recently installed a new ‘buzz in’ system at our main entrance on the second floor and our handicapped entrance on the ground floor. Beginning on Monday, April 2, 2018, these two...entry ways and all outside doors will be locked when school is in session and after 2:15 p.m.
If you plan to visit Region 10 during school hours or after 2:15, you will need to be let in to the building through this new system by pressing the ‘buzzer’ at the door. Someone from the main office will then ask you the purpose of your visit (such as a meeting with an instructor, to drop off/pick up something, etc.) and then buzz you in. Although not required, it would be very helpful if you plan to visit Region 10 to call ahead and let Kellie know that you will be coming and the approximate time you will be here.
We know that with anything new there will be some ‘bugs’ to work out, so please feel free to pass along to us anything that we need to address. While this new system may be inconvenient at times, our goal is to provide a safe building for all who work, learn or visit us. We appreciate your cooperation in this transition, and trust it will make our school a more secure building.
